Freya Dalsjö grew up in the middle of a forest near the Danish coast. Her parents' home was a safe nest where Freya could hide from the world. As she grew older a longing for chaos started to manifest and she packed a bag and moved to Berlin.
After experimenting within the intersection between fashion and art an independent and strong woman decided to apply for the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Here she got accepted and studied fashion.
When Freya moved home to Denmark to settle in Copenhagen an uncontrollable drive made her start up her own studio and exhibited her first collection at Copenhagen Fashion Week AW12.
Freya Dalsjö teamed up with Malthe Lund Madsen and Rune Finseth and manifested a vision of constantly refining beauty in all its forms and a promise of never make compromises. Together they started FREYA DALSJØ.
The same year FREYA DALSJØ was granted the honour of opening Copenhagen Fashion Week SS13. Words by Danish journalist Didder Rønlund:
"She arrived, presented and scored with a collection filled with fashion boldness, and was helped across the long runway in Carlsberg's bottling hall by Danish top models. Flattering white made a statement with a zing of the glamour of feather jackets. Silk and leather in a fine mix received applause, and Freya gave her miniskirts a sharp edge with new volumes of broad, soft legs running up to bum heights. ... it was a lovely opening of Copenhagen Fashion Week with one of Danish fashion's new, young actors in the spotlight. One was already filled with anticipation for a reunion."
FREYA DALSJØ AW13 collection will be showed at Copenhagen’s historical city hall during Copenhagen Fashion Week. The collection isn't inspired by anything, but transcends the state and vision of FREYA DALSJØ. A flourishing collaboration with Kopenhagen Fur and the joy from not traveling has fertilised the collection. Sharp and sculptural silhouettes with contrasting materials which renew a sense of luxury in a time of crisis. What is exclusive and fragile meets the perverted and animalistic in a battle between good and evil.
